• If the loan is required for building of a dwelling house, completing or extending a house, the following documents are required:
• Two photocopies of the Statutory Certificate of Occupancy or Deed of Conveyance in case of land acquired through third party hitherto allocated by the Federal Government ‘or State Government  to the title holder through letter of allocation.
• Approved building, site and survey plans prepared by appropriate licensed professionals.
• Cost estimate prepared by a qualified Quantity Surveyor.
• A written confirmation from the Federal and State Ministry i charge land matters that the land is still vested in the holder’s name.
• A letter of consent to mortgage the property from the State Governor or the FCT Administration.
• Deed of Guarantor’s form with Applicant’s and Guarantor’s Gazettes of Confirmation appointment or Commission Letter of Service.
• Declaration of Next of Kin form.

• if the provisional offer IS from a private vendor, the original letter of offer, two photocopies of vendor’s Deed of Conveyance, lease or certificate of occupancy/right of Occupancy including a letter of undertaking to surrender to the Board all legal documents on the land/property.
• If the provisional offer is from the Federal/State Housing Corporation/Board/Authority, the Original Letter of Offer/Allocation and an undertaking to surrender to the Board all legal documents on the land/property.

• if the Loan Is for the purchase of a parcel of land the following are required:
• Original letter from the vendor indicating the price of the Land
• Two photocopies of the Deed of Conveyance/Lease or Certificate of Occupancy.
• If the land is from the State Federal Housing Corporation/Board/Authority, then the Original letter of allocation/offer, quoting the price, guaranteeing that on payment, the deed will be surrendered to the Board.

If a Public Servant wishes to purchase/build a house where the cost of such is above their Loan entitlement, the difference shall be paid to the Board before the total cost of the Property identified will be disbursed as loan to the beneficiary through their identified vendor or themselves

If the loan is under the Partnership Programme with the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) for Home Renovation Loan the following are required:

1. Letter of Introduction from the employer
2. Letter of Request by the applicant.
3. Application Form issued by Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and the Federal Government Staff Housing Loans Board.
4. Letter of Confirmation appointment/Gazette appointment
5. Photocopy of Staff l. ID. Card
6. Photocopy of NHF Passbook Bio data Page.
7. Applicant’s Three (3) Months Current Pay slip
8. Bill of Quantity property to be renovated (optional)
9. 1st Guarantor Form
10. 1st Guarantor I.D. Card
11. 1st Guarantor one (1) month pay slip.
